What it does

Per-line rules

Separate requirements for General Liability, Property, Commercial Auto and Workers' Comp, so a GL-only risk is not held up by Auto requirements.

Versioned rules

When you change a rule, past submissions keep the version they were checked against. Results stay explainable months later.

Evidence for every result

A 'met' item links to the page where the value was found. A 'missing' item says exactly what to request.

One standard for the agency

Every account manager works from the same checklist, so packet quality does not depend on who prepared it.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose the lines

Mark which coverage lines the submission is for. Only the relevant rules are applied.

  2. 2

    Upload the packet

ACORD forms, supplements, loss runs and SOVs are read and the key values extracted.

  3. 3

    Review the gaps

Missing and uncertain items are listed first, ready to turn into a follow-up email.

Before and after

The manual way

  • A spreadsheet checklist that each account manager edits differently
  • Missing loss runs discovered after the carrier asks for them
  • No record of which requirements applied to an older submission
  • Hours spent re-checking the same fields on every packet

With PacketSlip

  • One agency-wide checklist per coverage line
  • Gaps flagged the moment the packet is uploaded
  • Each result tied to a rule version and a page reference
  • Account managers only look at items that need attention

Checklists in daily use

General Liability

Contractor submission

Situation
A GL submission for an electrical contractor is missing the percentage of subcontracted work.
What PacketSlip does
The GL checklist marks the item as missing and links it to the supplement page where it should appear.
Outcome
The question goes into the follow-up email before the carrier has to ask.

Property

Building details for multiple locations

Situation
Construction type and year built are provided for one location only.
What PacketSlip does
Per-location checks show which location is incomplete.
Outcome
The insured is asked for exactly the missing details, location by location.

Workers' Comp

Experience mod not provided

Situation
The application references an experience mod, but no worksheet is attached.
What PacketSlip does
The checklist flags the missing supporting document.
Outcome
The worksheet is requested in the same email as every other open item.

Default checks by line of business

Starting rules that agencies can adjust. Each change creates a new checklist version.

What a typical GL checklist includes

Common requirements include named insured and FEIN, business description and NAICS code, revenue and payroll by year, prior carrier and expiring premium, and at least three to five years of currently valued loss runs.

Property adds statement of values, construction, occupancy, protection and exposure (COPE) details. Auto adds driver and vehicle schedules. Workers' Comp adds payroll by class code and experience mod. You decide which of these are required, optional, or review-only.

Versioned rules for consistent reviews

Checklist rules are versioned. Each analysis records which version was used, so a past submission can always be explained even after the rules change.

Results show one of three states — met, missing or needs review — with the evidence that decided it.

Frequently asked questions

Can we edit the checklist rules ourselves?

Yes. Admins can add, remove or change rules per coverage line. Each change creates a new version, and earlier submissions keep the version they were checked against.

What does 'needs review' mean?

The value was found but with low confidence, or two documents disagree. A person should confirm it before the submission goes out.

Does the checklist work for multi-line submissions?

Yes. Select several lines and the rules for each are combined into one list, without duplicating shared items like named insured or FEIN.

Which coverage lines are supported?

General Liability, Commercial Property, Commercial Auto and Workers' Compensation are included. Other lines can be modelled with custom rules.

Can we add our own checklist items?

Yes. Agency admins can edit rules per line of business; changes create a new version.
